Olympic Pictograms Poster

Fall 2009, Structure and Expressiveness in Visual Communication
The objective of this assignment was to design a poster based on the history of the Olympic Pictograms. I had two separate goals that I felt were most important while designing this poster. The first goal was to inform the viewer of the history of Summer Olympic pictograms. The second goal was to convey this historical and informational viewpoint through the use of text and selected pictograms relating to each of the games. Inspiration behind these posters rooted from the origin of the Olympic rings themselves. The five interlocking rings represent the five continents of the world: America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
