Course: Concept, Form & Context III: Nature
When: 2009
Description: As humans move towards a more environmentally conscious era, smaller houses are becoming more popular. Advantages to owning a smaller home include, but are not limited to: affordability, a decrease in maintenance, energy efficiency, and simpler living.  I designed a 400-square-foot home consisting of a bedroom, kitchen, living room, full-size bathroom, and green roof.

These pieces were done in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Course:
Designer Boot Camp
When: 2009
Description: The objective of the assignment was to design a humane mousetrap using as few materials as possible.  The materials were limited to basswood, acrylic and glue. The mechanism used is a one-way door fixed to a wooden hinge. No mice were harmed during the research and development of this fully functional project.

Description: The objective of this assignment was to design a product that solved the problem of looking for the “misplaced” iPod®. Studies indicate that people who lose things often should practice keeping them in a consistent location. Therefore, my solution was based on the notion of having somewhere special to rest the user’s iPod® everyday. Another focus behind this exercise was also to become comfortable with rapid prototyping and vacuum forming, as well as package design.

Description: I designed a toy car that was powered by a rewired, hand-crank flashlight. It powered 4 LED headlights, 4 LED taillights and a motor.  The body was designed in Illustrator and laser cut from foam core board.  It was my first time soldering and working with electrical circuits.

I designed these for a Bivouac T-shirt Design Contest. I was restricted to 2 spot colors.
When:
2009

I made this for the UM Museum of Art t-shirt contest. It was for the Student Re-Opening Celebration.  The design could have at most 2 colors. I chose to design a creative rendering of the new building.
